I used 55-e1550.rules with (cant remember where to put it):
SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTRS{idProduct}=="1446", ATTRS{idVendor}=="12d1", \
   RUN+="/usr/bin/usb_modeswitch -c /etc/usb_modeswitch.conf"
