On a closely related topic, the mplayer RPMs do not come equipped with
all the necessary codecs (due to licensing issues, I presume). I
couldn't find any RPMs with the necessary codecs, so I installed a set
manually, but the codecs only work partially. For example, mplayer can
play movie trailers both (sound and video) and .mp3 files, but it
fails with .mpeg files.

Does a supported RPM with the proper codecs for mplayer exist
anywhere? I found a reference somewhere about an
mplayer-codecs-essential package, but I can't find it anywhere.
