I would try downloading the official SRPM for 3.0.11, --rebuild'ing it 
and giving that a shot. Samba is one of those tools where I deviate from 
the RedHat supplied RPMS and use the vendor supplied single-binary RPM, 
so that I can stay on the forefront of the Samba curve.
