I am having a few problems with CentOS locking on my laptop (Compaq Presario V2000, Celeron M, 232M ram). It will randomly lock-up solid, no ping, no keyboard, no mouse, nothing. The only symptom is that the fan spins (like it does when it is doing something CPU intensive) and after a second or two stops. It started with CentOS 4 beta, but it still happens on CentOS final. There are no entries on any of the logs that may shed some light on to why. It does not matter that I have selinux on or off, how many services I have running... The bug does not seem to happen on Ubuntu (I don't use it long enough to actually knowing if it does). Any ideas on how can I trace the source of the bug?
