LARTC and CentOS question

Hello all,

Got myself the Linux Advanced Routing & Traffic control book
http://lartc.org/howto/

All the commands in the guide do not survive reboots.

Could someone point me in the right direction, where I can find 
CentOS/Redhat specific documentation on the whole 
/etc/sysconfig/network* setup?
