few messages ago I wrote just to install three rpms from the 4 final to
change redhat-release, yum.conf and yum.repos/centos*
centos-release-4-0.1.i386.rpm yum-2.2.0-1.centos4.2.noarch.rpm
centos-yumconf-4-2.noarch.rpm
hope this can help for yum... starting from an 4.0rc1... from older
releases maybe better to start from cd/dvd with linux upgradeany or to
do a fresh install and move your configurations/applications...
