Help rebuilding kernel get mount error on reboot

THe size of the ramdisk is not even close to the original.
Which since I am using the same config I would have thought it to be the same size.

initrd.2.6.9-11.ELcustom 307K
initrd.2.6.9-11.EL 390K

That is supposed to happen in the "make install".
In fact I looked at /boot and it is there.
