I might be misunderstanding the issue, but when I run the command

   xlsfonts | grep lucidatype | grep 8859-1

as listed in the Fedora Core 3 bug report on a CentOS4RC1 machine
I've had running for a few days, I see

   -b&h-lucidatypewriter-bold-r-normal-sans-10-100-75-75-m-60-iso8859-1
   -b&h-lucidatypewriter-bold-r-normal-sans-11-80-100-100-m-70-iso8859-1
   -b&h-lucidatypewriter-bold-r-normal-sans-12-120-75-75-m-70-iso8859-1

   -b&h-lucidatypewriter-medium-r-normal-sans-8-80-75-75-m-50-iso8859-1

I have the following font packages installed on this machine (it's
a fairly basic install):

   # rpm -qa 'fonts*'
   fonts-xorg-base-6.8.1-1
   fonts-xorg-100dpi-6.8.1-1
   fonts-xorg-75dpi-6.8.1-1

I can also choose Lucida Typewriter as a font for Firefox with the
ISO-8859-1 encoding, and it works. And I can find Lucida
Typewriter with that encoding in xfontsel.
