Updates may have flaws, 3rd party updates more so than official ones. For those that use my packages. I can not guarantee that released packages do not contain flaws. I only guarantee that if you report problems, they will get addressed. If you're concerned about this (and you should be) test toroughly yourself. I'm looking into providing a better service and improve the quality by implementing some safeguards and allowing people to openly give feedback on packages (not only when there are problems!). If we can get a community-driven promotion system into work, a staging area for _all_ updates might be doable without spending (voluntary) resources. Any help in designing such a system and improving the RPMforge service is welcome and very much required. I know it looks as if I'm a loner, but I have plenty hooks to hook into. (yes, this is figuratively speaking :))) Summary: Do no automate the updating process unless you have verified things yourself. Especially in production environments.
