You must be running an old beta, check your install. The MySQL RPM in 
the release SRPM tree is 4.1.7:

ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/enterprise/4/en/os/i386/SRPMS/

Notice there's a compatibility SRPM for the 3.x stuff to use as well.
