If there arescan ranges (Horiz/Vert) defined in the monitor
section of /etc/X11/xorg.conf, remove them. The video card
should detect and pass along the correct scan ranges. If
they are explicitly defined, X will assume you know what you
are doing. It's very likely your old monitor supports higher
scan ranges than the new LCD.

Otherwise, pull out your manual for your LG monitor and put
in the correct scan ranges in the Monitor section.
