One thing I hit, in a computer with 3 hard drives, was the DMRaid
package prevented me from accessing the 2 non boot hard drives. It
was somehow grabbing the partitions and preventing mount from
mounting them. Even when I reformatted them to be single partitions/
drive instead of being part of a LVM2 group. Help on this group led
me to removing the package, then 4.2 worked well.

Note, this first hit me on an yum upgrade. It also affected a fresh
install.
