I must agree... 256 MB for a MailScanner+SA setup is rather low.  What 
you could do is subscribe to a service like LastSpam (www.lastspam.com) 
(they are MailScanner-SA (with custom code)) to filter junk, if you 
can't get better hardware (especially memory).
