Hi David,
I  definitely solved my problems recompiling the kernel  with 3ware
7006-2 RAID1 driver statically compiled in.

I read this thread :

and after some problem (EXT3 error) I decided to recompile from
standard sources.

Sure, thanks to Scott suggestion, You can also recompile only the
3ware driver modules and all work fine but the CPU iowait under
some circumstances go up 70/80% and this is unacceptable.
