I had to compile and install the hostap = driver, the Wireless Extension and Tools, and the IPW2100 driver = itself. You do not need to compile a new kernel - the stock = kernel works fine though you do need to: a. install the kernel source = b. generate a '.config' file, and c. make a single, small change to = '.config'. The docs as provided by the project website provide = all the cooking instructions you'll need.

I had tried to use ndiswrapper previously but it = caused X to freeze anytime an application tried to use anti-aliased = text. No problems with ipw2100 thus far, but I'm not very = familiar with the actual use of the tools yet.

The laptop does not restore from suspend successfully = with the ipw2100 driver loaded.
