Update on CDC’s Avian Influenza A(H5N1) “Bird Flu” Response Activities
CDC continues to respond to the outbreak of HPAI A(H5N1) bird flu in poultry and dairy cows in the United States. Recent CDC activities include sequencing full genomes of the viruses from
three recent human cases associated with a second poultry farm in Colorado; the announcement of two new investments to protect the health of farm workers; and continuing to support states that are conducting seroprevalence studies and monitoring people with exposure to cows and other animals infected, or potentially infected, with A(H5N1) viruses.
