Seasonal influenza activity continues to decline in most areas of the country. Six flu-related deaths in children were reported this week, bringing the total reported this season to 148.

Avian Influenza A(H5N1) US Situation Update and CDC Activities

CDC’s response to this outbreak of A(H5N1) bird flu in dairy cattle most recently includes an updated Technical Report, updated and expanded interim guidance for worker protection and use of personal protective equipment, and an overview of findings from ongoing CDC lab studies, including that the virus from the one human case is susceptible to all available and recommended flu antiviral drugs.
