Human Infection with a Swine Origin Influenza Virus, First in U.S. in 2024 CDC posted a web spotlight on the first reported U.S. human infection this year with an influenza A(H1N2) variant (v) virus that normally spreads in pigs. This infection was detected in a person living near a pig farm in Pennsylvania who had contact with pigs before their illness. The person was hospitalized and has since recovered. No person-to-person spread of this virus has been identified. Learn More
