Recommendations to Help Parents Fight Flu

As your children return to school from winter break, consider getting them a flu vaccine if you haven’t yet. Flu vaccine doesn’t always prevent flu, so it is important to know what to do if your child gets sick. Flu vaccination can reduce flu severity if your child still gets sick. CDC has resources available on flu vaccines for children as well as information on identifying and treating flu. Get your flu vaccine: Vaccines.gov.

Updated Technical Report: Avian Influenza A(H5N1) Viruses

CDC posted an updated avian influenza A(H5N1) technical report that includes two recent human infections with H5N1 virus in Cambodia and updated information about global activity in wild birds, poultry, and other animals. The overall risk to humans has not changed and remains low. People exposed to birds infected with H5N1 virus should take precautions outlined in CDC guidance.
