2022 - 2023 Flu Season 

Leading Public Health Experts Review Vaccine Data and Recommendations to Protect Against Flu, RSV, COVID-19 and Pneumococcal Disease 

Register for the NFID 2023 Annual News Conference this Thursday, September 28 as infectious disease experts review flu vaccine data, including vaccine coverage data from the 2022-2023 U.S. respiratory season, and discuss the importance of vaccination against flu, respiratory syncytial disease (RSV), COVID-19, and pneumococcal disease especially among older adults, pregnant people, and those with chronic health conditions who are at higher risk for related complications. NFID will share results of a national survey of U.S. adults on vaccination attitudes and behaviors.

The annual news conference is scheduled for 9/28/23 from 9:30-10:30 AM ET. Panelists will include Mandy K. Cohen, MD, MPH, CDC Director; Keith C. Ferdinand, MD, Professor of Medicine, Tulane University School of Medicine; Robert H. Hopkins, Jr., MD, NFID Medical Director; William Schaffner, MD, NFID Spokesperson; Patricia (Patsy) A. Stinchfield, RN, MS, CPNP, NFID President (Moderator); with additional expert Vivien G. Dugan, PhD, CDC Influenza Division Director.

Panelists will also discuss how the public can best protect themselves this fall and winter.
