Immunization Guidance for Flu, COVID-19, and RSV for Older Adults

People 65 years and older are at higher risk of developing serious flu complications. CDC encourages everyone to stay up to date on immunizations for flu, COVID-19, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). Mark your calendar for Tuesday at 2 p.m. ET as COCA presenters will provide guidance for administering vaccines to adults 60 years and older and discuss resources to help facilitate older adult vaccination.

Bird Flu Outbreaks Increased Globally in Recent Years

Bird flu outbreaks in animals and infections in people increased worldwide during 2013-2022. A new CDC study highlights the causes of the rise of bird flu and the need to monitor and report bird flu in animals and humans. To prevent bird flu, avoid sources of exposure and take precautions.

If you are 65 years or older, there are preferred #flu shots you should get (if available) that are potentially more effective than regular flu vaccines for your age group. September or October are good months for people 65 years and older to get vaccinated against #flu. More: Flu & People 65 Years and Older | CDC
