Human Infection with Avian Influenza A(H3N8) Virus Reported by China A third human infection with avian influenza A(H3N8) virus and first death was reported in China on March 27, 2023. The patient was an adult from Guangdong Province with multiple underlying medical conditions. They were hospitalized and later died.
