Vaccine Code Updates Not Related to COVID-19

1. CVX Code Updates:
  • Three CVX codes; 197, 203, and 205 had their descriptions updated to standardize and improve readability of the representation of the dose volume by adding a leading 0 before the decimal where appropriate (e.g. 0.5 mL vs .5 mL).
  • CVX 204 had the note field updated, removing notation that NDCs were not yet available.
2. NDC Code Updates:
  • New ebola ERVEBO vaccine NDCs have now been added and mapped to existing ebola CVX code 204 and MVX code MSD. All other associations to CVX 204 (CPT, VIS, Product Tradename) had been previously established.   New NDCs for ERVEBO are shown below:

4. Other - Final Notes

  • In addition to the NDC updates listed above, FDA files received and processed by the CDC included minor changes to two UoS and UoU pairs where the FDA modified the ingredient descriptions and 2 other pairs where the CDC set end dates in 2022, and the FDA retired the NDCs from their files now.  These changes did not impact CDC codes or information published in the CDC files.  However, the updates did change the date of last update on the affected records.
  • Eight CVX codes had internal updates that are not visible on the files published by the CDC but did change the date of last update on those records.
