WEEKLY REPORT

The figure is a graphic encouraging people eligible for mpox vaccination to get vaccinated as soon as possible. There are human icons used to represent a statistic that reads, “In a study of males ages 18-49 years eligible for vaccination, for every 1 illness among people who were fully vaccinated (2 doses) there were 10 illnesses among people who were unvaccinated.” The graphic encourages getting both doses for best protection.

Reduced Risk for Mpox After Receipt of 1 or 2 Doses of JYNNEOS Vaccine Compared with Risk Among Unvaccinated Persons — 43 U.S. Jurisdictions, July 31–October 1, 2022

Among JYNNEOS vaccine-eligible men aged 18–49 years, mpox incidence among unvaccinated persons was 10 times as high as that among persons who had received 2 vaccine doses. Preliminary evidence indicates no difference in protection between subcutaneous and intradermal administration routes.
