Weekly U.S. Influenza Surveillance Report

  • CDC's Influenza Division posted the first full FluView report of the 2022-2023 flu season. The report shows flu activity is increasing across most of the U.S. Flu activity is highest and increasing the most in the southeast and south-central parts of the country.

Ad Council, AMA, and CDC Urge Flu Vaccinations


On October 12, the Ad Council, AMA, CDC, and CDC Foundation launched the third year of a campaign to motivate more people to get a flu vaccine, especially Black and Hispanic Americans who are less likely to be vaccinated and more likely to be hospitalized with flu. Campaign materials feature culturally responsive content shared through common, trusted channels.

Parents: Help Children Fight Flu 


Children younger than 5 years and children of any age with certain chronic conditions are at higher risk of developing serious flu complications, but flu vaccination among children has dropped about 6% in the past two years. With flu expected to make a come-back this season, parents can help fight flu by getting themselves and their children vaccinated.
