Vaccine Code Set Update Publication Date: July 25, 2022

The individual filenames included in this distribution contain the publication date (20220725)

 

Release Notes: This release includes updates for all vaccine codes and maps, but does not include codes for Vaccine Information Statements (VIS).  No COVID-19 code updates are included in this release.

 

General Note regarding this release:  Codes with "Last Update" dates after June 21, 2022, and before July 21, 2022, reflect the changes and additions in this release.  This release includes the following code set updates:

1. Vaccine Code Set Updates Not Related to Seasonal Influenza
   • New vaccine codes and other changes
2. Seasonal Influenza Vaccines
   • New vaccines for the 2022/2023 season
   • Retired codes for 2021/2022 season

1. Vaccine Code Set Updates Not Related to Seasonal Influenza
   • TicoVac:  New Pfizer pediatric NDCs for Tick-borne encephalitis vaccine.  Two new units of sale and one new unit of use added and mapped.

• Merck Labeler Name Change on NDCs from "Merck & Dohme Corp." to "Merck & Dohme LLC"
  27 Unit of Sale NDCs and 20 Unit of Use NDCs have had a minor labeler name change on the FDA listings.  There is no change to the MVX code.  This has updated the date of last update on the affected NDC records.  The new labeler name now appears on the NDC records in the CDC code set files.  Changes to the NDC Merck labeler have been provided in the FDA files on a rolling basis over the past few months.

2. Seasonal Influenza Vaccines
   • New 2022/2023 Seasonal Influenza Vaccines

   Vaccine codes for the 2022/2023 seasonal influenza vaccines have been added as shown in Table 1 below.  Also updated is the website table "2022/2023 Seasonal Influenza Codes and Crosswalk".  The table is available on the CDC website using the following link:  https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/programs/iis/code-sets.html
    

   Note:  Information for three vaccines which were available in 2021/2022 have not yet been received as of this publication.  These are noted with "NA" in the NDC fields of the table below. The 2022/2023 versions of these vaccines will be added when and if they are made available.
