New CDC Study Compares Flu and COVID-19 Hospitalizations Rates in Kids
A new CDC
study found that among children, hospitalization rates associated with COVID-19 were higher than flu-associated hospitalization rates during each of the three seasons prior to the pandemic, but with differences by age group. Compared with COVID-19, the flu-associated hospitalization rate was lower among those 12–17 years old, but similar or higher among kids younger than 12 years old.
