Lyme Disease

Lyme disease is spread by the bite of an infected tick. In the United States, an estimated 476,000 infections are diagnosed and treated each year. If you camp, hike, work, or play in wooded or grassy places, you could be bitten by an infected tick.

Getting Enough Sleep?

People often cut back on their sleep for work, for family demands, or even to watch a good show on television. But if not getting enough sleep is a regular part of your routine, you may be at an increased risk for obesity, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease and stroke, poor mental health, and even early death.

Air Quality

Today’s the day to start thinking about air quality. Pay attention to the Air Quality Index (AQI). The AQI is a tool that tells you when high levels of air pollution are predicted and tells you how air pollution affects your health.

Prevent Traumatic Brain Injury

A traumatic brain injury (TBI) is caused by
  • A bump, blow, or jolt to the head, or
  • A penetrating head injury that disrupts the normal function of the brain.
TBI is a major cause of death and disability in the United States, contributing to about 30% of all injury deaths.

Get Childhood Vaccines

Families have been doing their part by staying at home as much as possible to help stop the spread of COVID-19. An unfortunate result is that many children missed check-ups and recommended childhood vaccinations. CDC and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommend every child continues to receive recommended vaccinations during the COVID-19 pandemic.
