Help Promote NIIW and Keep Kids Protected from Vaccine-Preventable Diseases

Dear Partners,

Help us promote National Infant Immunization Week (NIIW) from April 24 – May 1, 2021!

NIIW is a yearly observance highlighting the importance of protecting children two years and younger from vaccine-preventable diseases. This year, NIIW is particularly important as disruptions from COVID-19 caused many families to miss routine checkups and recommended vaccinations. Recent data from the CDC indicate that vaccine orders are down by 11 million doses in 2020-2021 compared to 2019; particularly concerning is the more than 20% drop in measles-containing vaccine orders. As opportunities for in-person learning and play grow, the mission of NIIW in protecting children against vaccine-preventable diseases is more important than ever.

CDC recommends families check with their healthcare providers to make sure children are up to date on recommended vaccines, even during the pandemic.

To help spread the word, CDC has created a refreshed toolkit of NIIW materials for partners. Please explore and use our Digital Media Toolkit, which includes:

  • Social media graphics for Twitter, Facebook and Instagram
  • Infographic
  • Website badges and email signatures
  • Newsletter text

We hope you will join us this year to share this timely message. We look forward to seeing your posts on social media using #NIIW and #ivax2protect.

Thank you for your continued support during NIIW and beyond!
