Living with a Heart Defect

Congenital heart defects are present at birth and can affect the structure of a person’s heart and its ability to work properly. As medical care and treatment have advanced, people with heart defects are living longer and healthier lives, many into adulthood.

Whooping Cough Vaccines

Two vaccines in the United States help prevent whooping cough: DTaP and Tdap. These vaccines also provide protection against tetanus and diphtheria. Children younger than 7 years old get DTaP, while older children, teens, and adults get Tdap.

Raw Milk

Many people are eating food with minimal processing, and some are even choosing to drink raw milk. Raw milk and products made from it, however, can pose severe health risks, including death.

Treating Latent TB Infection

Not everyone infected with TB bacteria becomes sick. As a result, there are two types of TB conditions: TB disease and latent TB infection. People with latent TB infection have TB bacteria in their bodies, but they do not feel sick, do not have symptoms, and cannot spread TB bacteria to others.

COVID-19 in the U.S.

As of February 5, 2021

In the United States, there have been 26,523,297 confirmed cases of COVID-19 detected through U.S. public health surveillance systems in 50 states and the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

In addition to cases, deaths, and laboratory testing, CDC’s COVID Data Tracker now has a Vaccinations tab to track distribution of COVID-19 vaccines in your state.

CDC is closely monitoring an outbreak of respiratory disease caused by a novel (new) coronavirus.

Sign up for the COVID Data Tracker Weekly Review newsletter if you would like more information on COVID-19. Please share it with your colleagues and networks.
