A record number of seasonal flu vaccine doses are available now! 

​As of January 1, 2021, 192.5 million doses of flu vaccine have been distributed in the United States. This is the highest number of flu doses distributed in the United States during a single influenza season, surpassing the previous record of 174.5 million doses distributed during the 2019-2020 flu season.

Latest flu vaccine coverage estimates show vaccination is down among children and pregnant women    

Vaccine coverage among children is currently estimated to be 52.4% compared to 55.7% in 2019. Pregnant persons coverage is 60% compared to 63% in 2019. Coverage disparities between racial groups of children remain. Specifically, coverage for White, non-Hispanic children is 12% higher than Black, non-Hispanic children & 5% higher than Hispanic children.

Flu activity remains at unseasonably low levels

Seasonal flu activity in the United States remains lower than usual for this time of year. However, with several weeks left in what is typically cold and flu season, it may increase in the coming months. If you haven’t gotten your flu vaccine yet this season, get one today, before flu starts spreading in your community. Find a vaccine near you.
