National Influenza Vaccination Week Kickoff

December 6-12 marks National Influenza Vaccination Week (NIVW), an annual observance to remind everyone that there’s still time to get your flu vaccine if you haven’t already. Flu activity is still low, but it may increase as we head into the winter.

National Miners Day

NIOSH’s research efforts cover all sectors of mining including coal, metal, industrial minerals, and stone, sand & gravel, and operations both above and below ground. While health and safety concerns vary from one mining sector to another, lung disease continues to be an important risk for coal miners.

Resources for Tribal Road Safety

Motor vehicle traffic crashes are a leading cause of death for American Indian and Alaska Native people aged 1-44. CDC’s Injury Center works with tribal communities to implement motor vehicle injury prevention programs, reduce injuries, and save lives.
