Flu Vaccination Through Late Fall and Winter: It’s Not Too Late!

Providers, register now for this webinar on Monday, December 7, from 2-3pm EST.

In this webinar, we’ll review:

  • the benefits of recommending influenza vaccination throughout the holiday season
  • how to safely administer flu vaccine during the COVID-19 pandemic

During the COVID-19 pandemic, it is important for all individuals, especially those at high-risk, to receive an annual flu vaccine. Influenza vaccination is a critical strategy to decrease stress on our healthcare system by decreasing influenza-related medical visits and hospitalizations, as well as decreasing the number of people who will need flu diagnostic testing.

Typically, influenza vaccination rates decline drastically by late November. However, this year, there will be an additional 9.3 million federally-funded late-season adult flu vaccine doses available in November, December, and January. As long as flu viruses are spreading and causing illness, vaccination should continue throughout the flu season to protect as many people as possible.
