Flu Vaccination is an Important Prevention Tool for People with Heart Disease

A new CDC expert commentary emphasizes the importance of annual flu vaccination, especially for people with heart disease. Flu illness is associated with an increase in heart attacks, even in people with no history of heart conditions. Flu vaccination is the best prevention against flu and has been associated with lower rates of some cardiac events among people with heart disease.
