SURVEILLANCE SUMMARIES

Early Identification of Autism Spectrum Disorder Among Children Aged 4 Years — Early Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring Network, Six Sites, United States, 2016

More children are being evaluated for and diagnosed with autism at an earlier age than previously reported. The younger a child is when he or she receives a developmental evaluation or autism diagnosis, the sooner the child can begin to receive needed services.
