According to CDC’s latest FluView report (Jan 26 – Feb 1), national levels of flu-like illness remain high and are expected to remain elevated for weeks to come. Actions to Help Slow the Spread of Flu

The single best way to prevent seasonal flu is to get vaccinated each year, but good health habits like covering your cough and washing your hands often can help stop the spread of germs and prevent respiratory illnesses like the flu. If you get sick with flu, take prescription antiviral drugs if your doctor prescribes them.

Children at High Risk for Developing Flu-Related Complications

All children younger than 5 years old are at high risk of developing serious flu-related complications; however, some children are at especially high risk for developing flu-related complications, like those aged 6 months old through 18 years old with certain chronic health conditions including asthma, chronic lung disease and heart disease.
