CDC’s MMWR and Medscape are proud to introduce a new FREE continuing education (CE) activity. The goal of this activity is to describe the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommendations for use of the hepatitis A vaccine for persons experiencing homelessness. The ACIP recommendations reported in MMWR are the basis of the activity.
This CE activity is intended for public health officials, emergency medicine clinicians, family medicine practitioners, infectious disease physicians, internists, nurses, pediatricians, pharmacists, and other physicians who care for homeless patients who might benefit from vaccination against hepatitis A.
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to
- describe the specific ACIP recommendation for use of the hepatitis A vaccine for persons experiencing homelessness and the implications for public health practice;
- determine clinical considerations for use of the hepatitis A vaccine for persons experiencing homelessness, according to the ACIP recommendations; and
- explain the rationale for use of the hepatitis A vaccine for persons experiencing homelessness, according to the ACIP recommendations.
