Weekly U.S. Influenza Surveillance Report
CDC's Influenza Division produces a weekly influenza surveillance report, FluView. According to this week's report (Feb 11-17), seasonal influenza activity remained elevated in the United States. Thirty-nine states experienced high Influenza Like Illness (ILI) activity levels.

With an overall estimated effectiveness of 36% for the 2017-18 flu season, annual flu vaccination is the best source of protection for preventing medically attended, laboratory-confirmed influenza virus. CDC offers a host of web-based trainings and resources for providers to stay up to date on influenza vaccine administration.

How Well Does the Flu Vaccine Work?
On February 15, HHS Secretary, Alex Azar, and Dr. Anne Schuchat spoke at a press conference at U.S. Department of Health & Human Services about this season's influenza vaccine effectiveness data.
