Vital Signs: Trends in Incidence of Cancers Associated with
Overweight and Obesity — United States, 2005–2014

CDC’s MMWR and Medscape are proud to introduce a new FREE continuing education (CE) activity that describes the incidence of and trends for cancers associated with overweight and obesity.

This activity is intended for public health officials, family medicine specialists, gastroenterologists, internists, obstetrician-gynecologists, nurses, pharmacists, and other clinicians caring for patients with overweight or obesity who might be at increased risk for cancer.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to

  1. Describe overall 2014 incidence rates and trends from 2005 to 2014 for cancers associated with overweight and obesity, based on US Cancer Statistics data
  2. Identify factors associated with 2014 incidence rates and trends from 2005 to 2014 for cancers associated with overweight and obesity
  3. Determine the public health implications of overall 2014 incidence rates and trends from 2005 to 2014 for cancers associated with overweight and obesity
