Update: Novel Influenza A in Ohio
Eleven people with exposure to pigs at an Ohio county fair have tested positive for an influenza virus that normally infects pigs and not people. Rare human infections with flu viruses that normally infect pigs have occurred in the past, most commonly in the context of exposure to pigs at agriculture fairs.

What CDC does about Swine/Variant Flu
CDC works to improve global control and prevention of seasonal and novel influenza, including swine influenza viruses, and works to improve influenza pandemic preparedness and response. CDC’s Influenza Division collaborates with domestic and global partners to prevent and respond to swine flu.
