Weekly U.S. Influenza Surveillance Report

​The CDC Influenza Division collects, compiles, and analyzes information on Influenza activity year-round in the US and produces FluView, a weekly influenza surveillance report. During week 51, ending December 24, four states (Alabama, Arizona, Georgia & Oklahoma), as well as New York City, and Puerto Rico experienced high activity.

New Report on Influenza Epidemics in China

​​​A new collaborative study between the Chinese and U.S. CDC examines the four avian influenza A(H7N9) epidemics that have occurred in China since 2013. The study reports an expansion in the areas of China affected by these viruses and an increase in the number of people who are infected and become severely ill.
