Study Finds Zika Virus Replicates and
Persists in Fetal Brains and Placentas CDC scientists found Zika virus RNA (genetic material of the virus) persisted in fetal brains
and in placentas for more than seven months after the mothers contracted Zika.
The researchers also found evidence of the virus replicating in an infant with
microcephaly who died two months after birth.

Adults, by Industry and Occupation — 21 States, 2013 To assess the industry-specific and occupation-specific
proportions of adults with current asthma by state, CDC analyzed data from the
2013 Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System industry and occupation module, collected from 21 states for
participants aged ≥18 years who, at the time of the survey interview, were
employed or had been out of work for <12 months.

Summary Data and Resources CDC has updated the data on the Assisted Reproductive Technology website,
including the interactive map of clinic success rates and summary report figures for 2014.
Mortality in the United States, 2015 This report presents 2015 U.S. final mortality data on deaths
and death rates by demographic and medical characteristics. These data provide
information on mortality patterns among U.S. residents by variables such as
sex, race and ethnicity, and cause of death.

2013–14 Influenza Vaccine Seasons As part of its case-control surveillance study of medications
and birth defects, the Birth Defects Study of the Slone Epidemiology Center at
Boston University has recorded data on vaccinations received during pregnancy
since the 2005–06 influenza vaccination season.

Schedule for Human Papillomavirus Vaccination — Updated Recommendations of the
Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices This report provides recommendations and guidance regarding use
of human papillomavirus vaccines and updates Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices human papillomavirus vaccination recommendations previously
published in 2014 and 2015. This report includes new recommendations for use of a 2-dose
schedule for girls and boys who initiate the vaccination series at ages 9
through 14 years.
Teen Birth Rates for Urban and Rural
Areas in the United States, 2007–2015 This report describes trends in teen birth rates in urban
(metropolitan) and rural (nonmetropolitan) areas in the United States overall
and by state from 2007 through 2015 and by race and Hispanic origin for 2015.
