Development of the Community Health Improvement Navigator Database of Interventions Brita Roy, MD; Joel Stanojevich, MPH; Paul Stange, MPH; et al. MMWR Suppl 2016;65(Supplement, No. 2):1–9 This report describes the development of the database of interventions included in the Community Health Improvement Navigator, released by CDC in 2015. The database allows the user to easily search for multisector, collaborative, evidence-based interventions to address the underlying causes of the greatest morbidity and mortality in the United States: tobacco use and exposure, physical inactivity, unhealthy diet, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, and obesity. Hospital administrators can use the CHI Navigator’s database of interventions to select and implement evidence-based interventions that have been effective in similar communities with similar collaborators to develop plans to address problems identified in the triennial community health needs assessment, in alignment with the IRS requirements for tax-exempt status. |
