Vital Signs: Exposure to Electronic Cigarette Advertising Among Middle School and High School Students — United States, 2014 Tushar Singh, MD, PhD; Kristy Marynak, MPP; René A. Arrazola, MPH; et al. MMWR Morb Mortal Wkly Rep 2016;64(Early Release):1-6 The use of electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) among U.S. youths has increased considerably since 2011. Exposure to advertisements depicting e-cigarettes might contribute to increased e-cigarette use among youths. CDC analyzed nationally representative data to estimate the prevalence of e-cigarette advertisements among middle school and high school students in the U.S. Four sources of exposure were assessed: retail stores, Internet, TV and movies, and newspapers and magazines. This report summarizes that analysis. |
