Watch Live Ebola Training Event Today from 1p.m. – 3 p.m. ET
Today, thousands of healthcare workers will participate in a large Ebola safety education session in Los Angeles. The CDC protocols for outpatient settings will be demonstrated for the first time, with more than 500 attendees on-site and 2,000 separate groups joining by webcast. The session will include:

  • live demonstration of nurse putting on and taking off personal protective equipment (PPE) for triage in outpatient settings,
  • an explanation of new statewide protocols and up-to-the-minute CDC guidelines for handling Ebola patients, and
  • interviews with healthcare workers, hospital management, and clinicians.

CDC’s Arjun Srinivasan, MD, associate director for healthcare-associated infection prevention programs will join the event. The CDC’s algorithm for Ambulatory Care Evaluation of Patients with Possible Ebola Virus Disease (Ebola) can be found here: http://www.cdc.gov/vhf/ebola/pdf/ambulatory-care-evaluation-of-patients-with-possible-ebola.pdf. The session is co-hosted by the Coalition of Kaiser Permanente Unions; Kaiser Permanente; and the Partnership for Quality Care, a national coalition of health care providers and workers.
