New Continuing Education Opportunities and Provider Tools for CDC’s U.S. MEC and U.S. SPR We are excited to announce new continuing education opportunities and provider tools for CDC’s U.S. Medical Eligibility Criteria for Contraceptive Use, 2010 (U.S. MEC) and U.S. Selected Practice Recommendations for Contraceptive Use, 2013 (U.S. SPR). Many of the tools are charts, diagrams, and algorithms presented in the U.S. MEC and U.S. SPR. The slide presentations can be used by health care providers who want to increase knowledge about the U.S. MEC, U.S. SPR, and teen pregnancy and/or earn continuing education credits. The presentation and speaker notes can also be used or adapted to give presentations on these topics.
The U.S. Selected Practice Recommendations for Contraceptive Use, 2013 (U.S. SPR) provides recommendations for common, yet sometimes complex, management issues in initiating and using contraceptive methods.
