Erin K. Sauber-Schatz, PhD, Bethany A. West, MPH, and Gwen Bergen, PhD
MMWR 2014;63:1–6

Motor vehicle crashes are a leading cause of death among children in the United States. CDC analyzed 2002–2011 data from the Fatality Analysis Reporting System to determine the number and rate of motor-vehicle occupant deaths, and the proportion of unrestrained child deaths among children aged <1 year, 1–3 years , 4–7 years, 8–12 years, and for all children aged 0–12 years. This report summarizes their findings.
