 New Whooping Cough Infographic

Protect babies from whooping cough. Find out how.

You are subscribed to either CDC's Vaccines & Immunizations Home Page or Program Managers subscription service. This email serves to inform you that a new whooping cough infographic is available.

CDC has developed a simple, colorful infographic.

This infographic shows three steps that expectant parents can take to give their babies the best protection from whooping cough, including the recent recommendation that pregnant women get a Tdap shot during every pregnancy.

The United States experienced a nearly 60-year record high number of whooping cough cases in 2012, with more than 41,000 reported cases. Although whooping cough can be serious for anyone, it can be deadly for babies. About half of infants who get whooping cough end up in the hospital. The majority of deaths last year occurred among infants younger than 3 months.
