Surveillance for Violent Deaths — National Violent Death Reporting System, 16 States, 2008
Each year, an estimated 50,000 people in the U.S. die as a result of violence-related injuries. CDC’s National Violent Death Reporting System (NVDRS) collects data on these deaths from 16 states. This report presents NVDRS data for 2008.
