A potential security vulnerability has been identified with HP-UX running IPFilter. The vulnerability could be remotely exploited to create a Denial of Service (DoS).

RESOLUTION

HP has made the following patches available to resolve the vulnerability. The patches are available from http://itrc.hp.com

PHNE_35766 or subsequent

Note: The vulnerability is resolved in the ARPA Transport patch PHNE_35766 or subsequent. Changes made in the LAN patch PHNE_34474 or subsequent allow the vulnerability to be exploited. Therefore, the vulnerable configuration is HP-UX B.11.23 running IPFilter with PHNE_34474 or subsequent and without PHNE_35766 or subsequent.
